Alex Dark, founder of Thoughtscapes

Alex Dark

Alex Dark is a seasoned ethnographer trained in anthropology at the University of Manchester, with years of experience in qualitative research. He was co-author of an innovative 2018 study taking an ethnographic approach to suicide on the railways, and has worked as part of Network Rail’s suicide prevention team ever since. He is currently a psychology doctoral candidate at Goldsmiths, University of London, studying suicide in high-profile locations. Alex set up Thoughtscapes to channel his experience and learning in social research into tangible, practical insight for clients. He lives on a boat with his family, and in his spare time can be found canoeing down the Avon, avoiding swans.
